On Saturday May 20, 2017, Joe Asselin is hosting a benefit show for Ed O'Hara at Leadbelly's. Ed is well known to the blues community: drummer, harmonica player, singer. He's played with The Blues Deacons and Kilborn Alley. All of the proceeds of the event go to Ed in his battle with cancer.

Joe Asselin has played with the Kilborn Alley Blues Band and The Sugar Prophets, and currently plays with The William Marsala Band. Joe started a new series of weekly shows at Leadbelly's Links Drinks Arcade (the old Fluid Event Center). Each Thursday from 7 to 10 pm Joe and a Featured Guest will be entertaining music fans. This promises to become one of the featured events on the local music calendar.

Leadbelly's at 601 N. Country Fair Dr. in Champaign boasts 400 craft spirits, bourbons & tequilas with domestic, local and craft beers. They also have pool tables, dart machines, foosball tables, air hockey and vintage arcade machines.

PCBS Monthly Meeting/Juke Joint Show

We've established a new tradition of combining our monthly meetings with the Kilborn Alley Juke Joint shows at Po' Boys. It's a chance to enjoy some delicious Po' Boys food and varied selection of beverages (including several types of Triptych brews) great blues music and lively conversation about upcoming blues events. The joint's been packed with blues fans, friends and family enjoying the party atmosphere!

We're currently planning our monthly blues jams and are looking for folks to get more involved with our various committees and Blues In The Schools program. Consider becoming a PCBS Member and help us reach out to other blues lovers in our communities.

On the 4th Wednesday of every month one of your favorite local blues bands kicks off the jam by hosting the 1st set. They then open it up to all the jammers in the house. Bring your instrument and plan on sitting in! We've had some outstanding local musicians showing up at the jams, come on out and join the fun!

Prairie Crossroads Blues Society is happy to help revive the tradition of a blues jam in the C-U area. The jams take place the 4th Wednesday of every month. Our jams moved to a new venue but the great music and fellowship continues!!

Champaign Blues Brews & BBQ Fest
Friday & Saturday June 23 & 24
Market Place Mall

The 10th Annua1 B1ues Brews & BBQ Fest is moving to a great new location and is bringing in some awesome acts to celebrate! Two great days of blues, a few cool beverages and some terrific food!

Friday's performers include; Robert Sampson, Toronzo Canon and Bernard Allison.Friday night's headliners are The Dirty Dozen Brass Band. If our memory is correct, Bernard Allison played the very first Blues Brews & BBQ Fest in Urbana.

Saturday's lineup includes newcomer Kevin Cory LeSure and local favorite Candy Foster. Other acts scheduled for Saturday include; Mr. Sipp "The Mississippi Blues Child", Selwyn Birchwood and headliners, Robert Randolph & The Family Band.
